Alphington launched its community battery after eight years in the making. The project was driven by the not-for-profit volunteer group, Village Power, who are now starting to operate the community battery. 

What is innovative and unique about their model is the sharing of  profits from trading energy from the battery, alongside their education and behavioral change objectives.
